Zakka Style Orchard Path Tweed Pouch

I have to say that this Zakka Sew-Along has challenged me in many ways to add new sewing skills to my repetoire but within the safety of an encouraging group of ladies who are also sharing their tips and ideas.

It has also exposed me to two new fabrics that I now absolutely love - linen and tweed.

So this week's Zakka Style project was a nice project to finish up a HUGE week of WiP finishes for me. I am now officially back on track with the sew-along.

I learned how to make paper pieced hexagons. They were easier than I thought. And they are a tad cute.
This pouch will be the extra surprise inside the Messenger Bag when I give it to my mum for her birthday in August. So I used some of the same lining fabric and solids so that they look like a pair.

  1. It looks great! I've just found your blog through a Flickr picture, and I'm having a lovely time looking around. Really impressed with your Zakka sew along bits and bobs, and your organisation blog links :)

    1. Aw thanks Jo...I'm afraid that the Zakka Style Sew-Along has meant that I have not posted about organising for a while. I kind of am less organised too. Just sorting my washing into a basket for each person and watching a 'Queen - the band' documentary this morning and trying to wrest it back. Thanks for stopping by.
