Ribbons and Sunsets

As I write this post the last rays of another winter's day are putting on a spectacular show.

This month's block for Kate of Kwilts by Kate is a stunning one. It's a FREE pattern available at Freshly Pieced and it's called the Ribbon Star block. The tutorial is mostly visual which is wonderful for me and apart from cutting time and then first go-around, it comes together quite sweetly.
Kate requested a white star but various shades of grey for the background. So it is going to throw up some lovely combinations. I cannot wait to see all of these blocks assembled in Kate's quilt eventually.

I am tempted to be as good as my word and make a 3rd one with orange and dark grey...but we'll see if I get time. Only one more week of June and I still have a few items left to get started on or finish up.

And with that in mind don't forget the great UFO June Challenge over at Local Honey Crafts. There have been a few new entries this past week so now I have competition to win the 10+ fabric prizes. I love Simone's generosity and taste in fabric and she is my most faithful Sunday Stash contributor.

And just a reminder to check out my give-aways on Wednesday's post.
