Fuglies and Gumbies

Maybe there is no such thing as co-incidence in 'blogland' but twice this week I have been alerted to blog swaps that have touched themes in my posts. The first was the linky to the fabulous 'Vintage Sheet FQ Swap' at 'Green tea and Red Nails' . Then after yesterday's post about using 'ugly' fabric for the Pre-Kindy activity bags, Kristy and Erin alerted me to the 'Fugly Fabric Party' hosted by Lucy at Charm About You.

Did any of you pick the 2 'ugly' fabric I used in my bags? Here is one of them. I only have a smidge left now - thank goodness!

First Finding Fifth Fugly Fabric Give-Away

I have a selection of 3 very ugly prints to give away. I will gladly pay even International postage to get rid of these 'beauties'.

My original Gumby was happy to pose with these just so you can gauge the print size. Gumby stands at 6 inches (15cm). Gumby is NOT included in any of the give-aways.

Gumby Fabric #1

Selvedge says: 'Rinaldo' design Marjatta Metsovaara
Made in Finland by Tampella
100% cotton.
Length = 60" (153cm)
Width selvedge to selvedge = 52" (132cm)
 Weight = 13 ounces (391g)

Gumby Fabric #2

Selvedge says: A VIP Print at Cranston Print Works Company
Made in the USA
100% cotton.
Length = 40" (102cm)
Width selvedge to selvedge = 44" (112cm)
 Weight = 4.4 ounces (126g)

Gumby Fabric #3

No printed selvedge details. Tartan (plaid) in navy, white and gold.
Made ?
100% cotton.
Length = 45" (115cm)
Width selvedge to selvedge = 46" (117cm)
 Weight = 6.5 ounces (185g)

So do any of those take your fancy? I thought not! Oh well, why not pick the ugliest and enter anyway.

Here's how it will work. You have 2 chances to win. 3 winners will be chosen by the random.org. next Tuesday 14th Feb. at 8pm AEST (that's + 16.0 GMT)

Chance #1 - Leave me a comment about which Gumby Fabric you wish to 'win'. 1st winner will get the first choice and 2nd and the 3rd the leftovers in due order.
Chance #2 - Leave a comment stating if you are a 'new' or 'old' follower of my humble blog.

Just For Fun

1. Visit yesterday's post called 'It's in the bag'
2. See if you can guess the other 1 (one) fabric I used from my 'ugly' stash.
3. Put your guess description in the 'Comment' section.

1 winner will be chosen by the random.org. next Wednesday 15th Feb. at 8pm AEST (that's + 16.0 GMT)

Prize: I will make another bag like this Gumby Bag out of the TOP leftover fabric...you know the one with the moon and stars!

Oh... please ensure you have an open profile with access to an email address or you leave your contact details in your comment.  NO email address = no valid entry. I have trouble with this myself through my Google account.

Another Fabric Giveaway on Finding Fifth

It's been a long time....and I still haven't reached '500 likers' but this competition is still open at last June's post. Click the link here to take you there and follow the instructions.

And now for some Lovely Fabric

No "bee mail" today but look what came instead. A lovely wrapped parcel from Linda and Chrissy at  Sew Lux Fabrics and Gifts.
And inside was some sweet Aneela Hooey's 'Little Apples' yardage. Perfect for piecing a lovely quilt back and making binding.

  14. I prefer gumby #3, I could like gumby #2 and never ever yould let gumby #1 anywhere near me. As for the bag ... I will guess it's the hmm strange skin colour with green and black and yellow undefineable pattern print on it (keeping my fingers crossed that that is not your all time favourite)

  15. I actually like the Gumby #1 red and green one...does that mean I have totally awful taste :P I can absolutely see it as an awesome Christmas apron for moi! Gumby #2 is ok too....but not that ok ;)

  16. That first Gumby fabric is quite "special", how in the world did you end up with that? I think I'll put my name in for that one to help you get rid of it.

    As for the other fugly, it's gotta be that orange, yellow & green tribal looking print (although the dolphins on pink are questionable too...)

    1. Hi Leena, Can you please reply here with an email address as I cannot find one under 'sonalee'? If not, I will just recycle the Gumby #2 fabric for next year's Fugly Fabric give-away. Cheers, Fiona
