Sunday Stash #73

The most popular Stash visited last week was Gina from Party of Eight: Our Story who profiled the latest Heather Ross' gorgeous Briar Rose collection.

Last Monday night I had dinner with my lovely friend Marieka from Bespoke Bites. She was up in Lismore for a 2 day conference and so we felt very special having a night off, sans children, to catch up. Marieka and I have been friends since 2008 when we both moved to Tumut. We live about 200Km (130 miles) away from each other now. We both know the lifestyle of being married to Civil Engineers and having to move towns often for new projects.

She had a little fabric offering for me  - extra wide Essex linen/cotton blend in Natural. This is beautiful to work with on Zakka projects.

And another linen fabric which actually feels like linen. I wonder if it will sew and crush like linen. 

Recently I bought a couple of Denyse Schmidt prints that were in the $4 per/m discount section at Spotlight .

Sunday Stash #42

Snippets Here and There

I had a girl's weekend away last month and got to visit my favourite fabric shop in Yamba - Simply Crafts. I bought 2x 1m packs for $12.50 and the Weekender Travel Bag pattern from Amy Butler.

While I was in Noumea, Gemma from Pretty Bobbins gave me more than a yard of traditional Kannak fabric.

With a $10 off Spotlight voucher I bought just 25cm increments of these Sydney, London and Paris linen fabrics. There is one for Melbourne but it was not in stock. I wonder if they also have a print for New York?

And I bought some Flat Fats of the text prints they currently stock.

Sunday Stash #26

Wash, Cook and Sew

Today's stash adds have an air of domesticity about them. 

All three are linen/cotton blends from Japan. I purchased these back in July from Xiong Minna of Minna Fabric on Etsy. It was when I was collecting for the Texting Whist Sewing challenge on Flickr. (I have not made anything for this challenge yet as I am busy getting my project ready for the Practically Paper Piecing blog hop when it stops here on August 2oth!)

Sunday Stash #24

What an Opening Ceremony last night at the Olympic Stadium in London! It had all the wonderful wit and self deprecation that I love in the British. The kids and I were laughing so much at Mr Bean infiltrating the London Symphony Orchestra to play the Vangelis tune to 'Chariots of Fire' and his subsequent dream sequence running on West Sands beach.

So in honour of the British, who so lovingly sent the best of their crop to the shores of the Great South Land, I bring you a slightly Pommy Sunday Stash today. These linen blend prints were purchased from Minna Fabric on Etsy.
