Sunday Stash #84

Sorry for posting this a bit late today but I have had two sick children this week and the third has now come down with the vomiting virus.

Thank you to Emily from Sew ET for hosting Sunday Stash last week.

Next week Sunday Stash will be hosted by Foster of Foster Reviews It.

Castle Peeps

I had to retroactively collect this whimsical line by Lizzie House. I had only one print missing from the 2009 collection. It is called Castle Tips in blue. I never thought that I would find it.

Then someone on the Sew You're Destashing Facebook page sent me a link to an Australian seller, Bec Clarke Creations, who had the missing print and for a reasonable price too!

I also added more of a couple of prints that I had only fat quarters of - Castles in green and Castles Multi in red. You can see my previous print acquisitions in Sunday Stash #37.

So now my Castle Peeps collection is complete. Now I just need find some time to make it into a fabulous quilt.
Have you ever had luck finding a missing print?

Linky party starts below.

Sunday Stash #37

Castle Peeps by Lizzy House

It's no secret that I have a love affair with Castle Peeps thesedays. But when it first came out I was new to quilting and only purchased two of the prints in the blue colourway for my nephew's I-Spy quilt.

So this year I have been buying up fat quarters from Big W and swapping anyone who is willing to part with their fat quarters too.

When I actually found a few of the red colourway fabrics at Ballina Spotlight, I was so surprised.

But I have never seen the green colourway fabrics anywhere. A quick Google search a few weeks ago revealed a US seller with a yard each of three fabrics in stock. Donna from Konahonu was willing to post internationally and make me a custom listing to save on postage costs. Only $5.49 per yard and $13.50 for postage!

I also found some of the green/brown and red people print at the Australian-based Fabric-alicious through the Sew You're Destashing page on Facebook.

I still have to find the flags, circles and waves in the blue colourway. Let me know if you see them about.

Do you have a fabric collection that you are trying to retro-buy? What did you miss?

Sunday Stash #35

Solids
During the Practically Paper Piecing Blog Hop in August I was randomly picked to win a $20 voucher from Pink Chalk Fabrics. That about covers the postage to Australia. So I chose a starter pack of 16 fat quarters of solids. I don't have many solids in my stash.

Surprise

In the past 3 weeks I have got surprise squishy mail from two of my blog buddies.
First Kristy sent me some fat eighths of 'Bella' by Lotta Jansdotter. For no other reason than she knew that Marieka and I loved them and so she split a Fat 8th pack between us. So kind.

Scraps

Then Lara sent me a FQ of Castle Peeps and some random scraps. I have used a few of the scraps in some polaroid blocks for myself. And Fran loves them.

Isn't it amazing what a little scrap love will do to brighten a quilter's day?  Let me know if you've been on the receiving or giving end of some RASK. (You MUST share Elnora - you have lovely friends who do this for you!).

Random Acts of Scrap Kindness (RASK).

I think it should be a new initiative for us all. Today, if you link your stash, two of you will be in the running for some RASK squishy mail from me. Please make sure that you pop me an email with your address to findingfifth@gmail.com.

I will NOT let you know if you are the winners - it will just turn up in your mail box and you can share on a future Sunday Stash. Then it will be YOUR turn to pay it forward and send two people you know some RASK and have them blog about it for Sunday Stash.  Hopefully it will multiply and bring happiness to lots of folks.

Next week, on October 21st, Sunday Stash will be hosted by Gemma of Pretty Bobbins  (whom I am to meet face to face in about 2 weeks - yay!) so please remember to pop over there next Sunday. She assures me that she has a great stash lined up and a BIG finish for this Friday.

Feel free to link up below.

Sunday Stash #22

A trip to the other local Big W during this week was even more fruitful than last week's Sunday Stash #21 haul. This store had 3 full boxes of rolled FQs and some spilling out! At nearly $4 each and based on a USA FQ measurement - they are not cheap.
And there were Peeps! Hooray! I can confirm the rumour is true.

Then there were some Michael Miller prints. Very domestic. Hopefully I can use them in my paper pieced neighbourhood.

Then there was vibrant Gingham!

Some cuties I could NOT resist.

And then there was text.

So what's new in your stash this week?  Let us have a 'peep'!
