Ikea Fabric
It's not often that I get to IKEA as we live about 2 hours from the Brisbane store. However, Goldie and I stopped off on the way back from the airport last Thursday. So nice to eat and wander around sans impatient kids and husbands!
Oranges
The sticker fell off this one at $9.99 per metre. I bought 2m to make a table cloth and some matching couch cushions. It is upholstery weight material. I love charcoal, grey and orange together. Last week's episode of Selling Houses Australia had an amazing terrace facade painted these colours - with a bright orange door!
Cecilia
This was the ONLY cotton weight material I could find. And at $4.99 per/m I bought 2.6m for a grand total of $13.07. It is 150cm wide so it will serve very well as a quilt back. I like the fact that it borders on I-Spy for fun and whimsy.
Next Week
Sunday Stash will be hosted by the lovely bilingual (actually she's double that with English, French, Mandarin and Indonesian but is there such a word as quadlingual?) Gemma from Pretty Bobbins. Her post last week is well worth a read because she gives a great insight into how she comes up with her stunning FMQ designs.
Hosting Sunday Stash
You can sign up to host Sunday Stash later in the year by clicking on the link below and signing up to host. Everything from July to December is still open. I would love to have some new hosts, and returning hosts, sign up.

Oooh, these are both lovely!
ReplyDeleteLove these. A trip to Ikea is definately on my list of things to do next time I'm in Perth.
ReplyDeleteI like them both but especially the one with orange.
ReplyDeleteOoh, I'm jealous! I love ikea and you got some great prints!! :)
ReplyDeleteOoh fab prints! The bird print would make a great backing too!
ReplyDeleteLove those prints - must try and convince hubby to stop off at Ikea next time we go up to Brissie!!
ReplyDeleteI was at IKEA yesterday too! They must have been sending out come hither looks our way. I love both of these for quilt backs for sure! Cecilia would be really awesome with some raw edge applique around some of its fussy cut shapes, too!
ReplyDeleteIkea? who would have thought? Well done you!
ReplyDeleteOh my, such lovely fabrics from IKEA. I have a trip planned to the store in Charlotte, NC the week after next - hope they have some of these!!
ReplyDeleteI'd love to host but I'm not sure the widget will work on my blog (since I don't use Blogger).
ReplyDeleteI have a heap of Ikea prints here I'm not sure what to do with - I bought them to make myself cute skirts but they are home dec weight and a bit too stiff.
I live so close to Ikea, and I have never bought their fabric! Time to re-visit that! I love the ones you have bought :)
ReplyDeleteI love both your fabric choices! I have lived out of a large city for so long I have never been to one but it sounds like fun!
ReplyDeleteWow! I am loving that Ikea fabric. We are in the process of painting our corrugated iron fence a lovely charcoal grey colour and then I am going to hang bright orange planter boxes made from old pallets along the fence to grow my herbs, keeping them out of reach of the dogs! I will definitely have to pop in to ikea to pick up some of that material for an outdoor tablecloth!
ReplyDeletemy kind of colour scheme Lara!
